Looking For A Bargain?
Everybody likes to "get a good deal". There are several sites that I frequent when looking for the most "bang for the buck". May you will find them helpful too.
How about a free long distance phone call? Dial 1-800-GOOG-411. From the same people who bring you the Google search engine comes this service for placing free long distance business calls. When you dial this number you get connected with an "operator" who requests the city and state that you are calling. You then give the name of the business that you wish to contact. I have had very good success with this service. As you are calling an 800 number to access the service, the calls are no charge to you.
http://www.provanatage.com I don't know how they do it, but this company always seems to come in with very low prices on items that fall into the obscure realm. I have purchased carrying cases from them for prices SUBSTANTIALLY less than the competition.
http://www.newegg.com Very good prices on a wide assortment of computer parts and peripherals. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter. It contains several coupons that are only redeemable by mailing list members.
http://www.buy.com Get on their mailing list. They run a free after rebate sale every so often. Like Amazon.com, they are an outlet for various merchants. You will generally get the best deal if you buy directly from them. Always look for free shipping. BEWARE: their customer service is among the WORSE in the industry (in my opinion). They have no inventory that is theirs and prices fluctuate widely. They have a 3 day price match policy which is INFLEXIBLE. Customer service is handled by a call center in the Phillipines and they have absolutely no power to do anything. I would sooner deal with Provantage or Newegg all things being equal.
As of 7/6/2007 I can no longer recommend them regardless of how big a bargain they may appear to be giving you. There is currently a major dispute between them as the seller, Connect3D as the vendor and several hundred or more consumers who purchased a Connect3D 2Mb SD card advertised with a $50.00 rebate. Read about it here:

http://www.woot.com Check the Woot daily deal. Most of their "stuff" will not appeal to you, but every once in a while something tempting will come along. They have flat rate shipping of $5.00. Come on, don't you want 10 PS2 keyboards?
http://www.techbargains.com This site is updated in real time and is a compendium of all the deals that are out on the Net. You'll be amazed at how many things you will be buying that you never even realized that you needed.
http://www.pricegrabber.com A price comparison engine. The major failing of this site is that it does not include all of the major vendors. Most notable by its absence is Provantage.com.

Does the high price of gas have you down? Take a look at Citibank Banks "Drivers Edge" VISA card. They give you 6% back on gas, supermarket and pharmacy purchases with a maximum rebate of $1000.00 per year. With gas at over $4.00 per gallon, 6% is almost 25 cents. Please note, that you do NOT get cash rebates. Your rebates are redeemable to pay for auto repairs and automobile purchases. A claim for is required to get your rebate.
Do you have problems thinking up secure passwords? Take a look at this site.
